  Micro Controlled Peeling

Micro Controlled Peeling gently removes epidermal cells to treat a vast range of skin imperfections.  It is especially effective for skin aging.  The powerful peeling action triggers the skin's repair mechanism to produce healthy epidermal tissue growth, improving skin tone and elasticity.

What is microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a progressive, non-surgical, treatment that propels natural crystals onto the surface of the skin for gentle epidermal abrasion that reveals newer, healthier, younger skin.

How does the treatment work?

Microdermabrasion works in two ways:
Correction:  The speed of the crystal flow causes an abrasive action that gently removes the surface layers of skin, allowing smoother, fresher skin to merge.
Stimulation:  The vacuum action helps to stimulate microcirculation, increasing the blood supply that provides nutrients needed for skin regeneration.  It also stimulates formation of new collagen and elastin to improve skin texture and elasticity.

Is it painful?

The treatment is performed with little discomfort.  At the most, sensitive clients might experience a slight sensation resembling a light sunburn.  After treatment the skin has a pink glow, and you can resume your normal activities almost immediately.

Which skin problems can be treated?

The system gradually abrades epidermal cells to treat a vast range of skin problems:

  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Uneven skin tones and textures
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Enlarged pores
  • Blackheads and pimples
  • Skin discolorations
  • Age spots
  • Body stretch marks
  • Some stretch marks

Is it safe?

Micro Controlled Peeling offers a gentler alternative to more traumatic resurfacing treatments.  It does not involve trauma or bleeding.  The treatment is executed slowly and progressively, removing only superficial layers of the epidermis to reveal a youthful complexion and glow.  Your esthetician has total control and works under the strictest hygiene standards, using sterile, disposable treatment nozzles to ensure your safety.

What does the treatment consist of?

With each basic treatment you will receive a thorough consultation, home care suggestions and a cleansing, the abrasion, a pH balancing, a hydrating mask, and protection fluid.  Add on services may be recommended per skin type or conditions.

How long does it take?

Each treatment takes 10 to 30 minutes, depending on which area is being treated.  When combined with other treatments, it may take longer.

How many treatments will I need?

Age and skin condition determine the number of treatments required.  For most skin disorders, a minimum of 6 treatments is recommended.  Results can be seen in both the texture and appearance of the skin after just one or two sessions.  Closely spaced treatments, combined with other treatments and maintenance sessions, will result in better skin quality.

How often do I come for treatment?

It is generally recommended that you receive one treatment per week during your initial series.

How long do the results last?

Results can last up to a year, and longer depending on how well you take care of your skin.  It is recommended however, that you come in for maintenance sessions to prolong your results.

Are there any specific products that I should use?

Yes.  We recommend a pre & post peel kit, available at our Day Spa, which will help address your skin care needs and make Micro Peel results more effective.
